Yesss, finally finished this! Spent all weekend, woah I'm slow.
Anyway, Eva and Johannes decided to let someone else try out this mare, and maybe make her rideable and a little more obedient. So, Johannes took Anju with him down to Oceania Equestrian Center (kind of a long trip lol) to let Nerea give it a try. Turquoiseoce will do the next part!

Oh, and critique on the anatomy is very much appriciated!

Story:

Both Anju and Johannes were exhausted after the long travel all the way down to Oceania Equestrian Center, a beautiful stable located close to the sea. Johannes was dreaming of going on a proper beach ride, unable to do so in Norway yet because of the sudden changes in the weather still, but unsure if the unruly mare in the trailer behind him would make it possible. He parked the trailer, took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a short moment before he stepped out and felt the lovely warm air against his skin. The whole place was gorgeous; huge buildings, surprising amounts of vegetation (he had imagined Australia being nothing but desert) and now, a sweet young lady jogging towards him, her blonde hair in waves behind her, her charming smile too hard to resist, so he smiled wide back like an awkward idiot. Behind him, Anju were already getting impatient, and the girl was clearly startled when she all of a sudden kicked the wall of the trailer with all of her might. They hurried her into one of the paddocks, where she ran around like a maniac, probably just happy to finally stretch her legs. Johannes watched her while the blonde girl, who had introduced herself as Nerea, studied her every move with interest.

    -          I hope this does not scare you, Nerea. Sure, she is bursting with energy and is a great challenge, but she isn’t really dangerous, I wouldn’t say that. I guess it is just that none of us is able to find the right buttons to push, if that makes sense at all.

Nerea smiled and did not come across as nervous at all. She looked at the horse, who was trotting around in small circles and not him when she replied.

    -          Not at all! It has been a while since I got the opportunity to work with a horse like this. She has great movement, really. I think she will do well if we just figure out how to deal with her bad habits.

---

The next day, Anju was considerably calmer, about as calm as she would get. She had only tried to bite Nerea twice while she groomed her. Johannes was nervously watching her, hoping nothing would go wrong, at least not the first day. On the way to the riding hall, Anju kicked while walking, making it look like she was bouncing along. People used to guess her age to be around three years because of her bad manners, even though she was nearly seven. Nearly seven, and never showed. He hoped Nerea would be able to tame the undisciplined mare. She seemed motivated, and that calmed Johannes a bit. Entering the arena, Anju breathed in the unfamiliar air, standing still for a moment.

    -          Do you want me to try her out first, and check out what she is like today? I am just nervous, to be honest. I do not want you to fall right off her. That would not give a very good first impression, but sadly, that is just what she is like.

    -          No, it is fine! If you would just make sure she does not do anything funny while I jump up, that would probably help a lot.

    -          If you say so…

He was not completely convinced she would be able to remain in the saddle for too long. She was so small; Anju could easily toss her off in a heartbeat if she wanted to. Johannes took a solid grip of the reins, stroking the mare’s soft muzzle, attempting to calm her down while Nerea effortlessly jumped up and seated herself in the saddle. Anju lifted her head up high, pulling the reins out if Johannes’ hands.  Nerea pushed her to walk, but the mare defiantly chose to go backwards instead. Nerea did not need many minutes in the saddle before she realized that this mare indeed was quite the challenge. However, she was still eager to succeed on this task, and she definitely could not fail while he was watching, this sweet guy from up north with eyes like ice…

She lost focus for a moment, unfortunately the wrong moment; Anju suddenly jumped almost a meter up in the air, maybe she was spooked, maybe she was just fed up with being a good girl; either way, she left no time for Nerea to prepare for her mischief-making. Johannes stood stiff watching, his heart racing. Nerea was fortunately a rider with great balance, and remained in the saddle, her expression a little startled, but at least she was unhurt. There was no doubt about it anymore, this mare was being her own boss, but right there Nerea made a promise to herself not to let her continue.
